WORKSHOP: BIOGAS AS A RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE.
On 26th March 2009, the final workshop of the 'Microphilox' project will be held, where the results of this innovative project, bringing important new technological advances for energy recovery of biogas, will be presented.
The main goal is to give the public access to research that has allowed the generation of electricity and heat from biogas extracted from landfills using microturbines, and to stimulate debate on the multiple advantages of biogas, demonstrating its potential for the near future.
The Microphilox project has been financed by the EU’s Life Program and is an innovative initiative developed by Cespa, Profactor and the Institut Químic de Sarrià y Peinusa.
This project has won several awards: The Energy Globe Award 2007 for Spain, and at national level, the sixth Medio Ambiente Garrigues-Expansión award for the 'Greatest Business Initiative' in the category of Innovation, Development and Application of the best technologies. It has also won the Bioenergía Plata 2008 Award.
