

During the awards ceremony, the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Angel Cámara, received the sculpture out of recycled material resulting from the 'I create, I do believe in Recycling. The Exhibition' display.
Murcia, 10th November 2009.- The mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, received the sculpture that Raúl Bravo, the artist participating in the 'I create I do believe in Recycling. The Exhibition' display. This work of art was created with material recycled by the citizens of Murcia. The activity was one of the workshops that were part of the exhibition taking place last September.
The sculpture was received by the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, 'in appreciation to the support the Town Hall provides to any initiative promoting a clean and sustainable city', as stated by the Manager of Quality and The Environment, Borja Martín.
On his behalf, Miguel Ángel Cámara indicated 'it is very satisfying to see the result of the work carried out by the people of Murcia in their daily recycling effort by means of a work of art'.
Although the location of the sculpture has not yet been decided, the town councillor for road cleaning and waste collection, José Ros, declared it 'would be interesting to give the sculpture a name and the Cespa company will be invited to open a competition of ideas between the students attending the environmental talks of Cañada Hermosa'.
The ceremony took place just before acknowledging the journalists who were awarded the 'First APIA CESPA Journalism Prize for Waste Recycling and Treatment' rewarding their work on spreading information in favour of recycling.
Among those receiving awards was Ana Carretero Castaño, in the 'radio and television' category, for the work broadcast in the 'Protected Space' programme by CANAL SUR 2 entitled: 'Glass recycling'. The award was handed in by Luís Guijarro, President of APIA.
In the 'On line' category, the award went to the work published in 'CONSUMER EROSKI' written by Alex Fernández Muerza and entitled: 'The importance of recycling paper and cardboard'. The award was handed in by the CEO of Cespa, Javier Llansó.
In the press category, Mª José Montesinos received the prize for her work published in La VERDAD in Murcia entitled: 'The analogue shutdown fills selective waste centres with televisions and TDT equipment'. She collected the award from the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara.
